Ngaire is the Office Administrator - your first contact with our school.

Hi, I am Ngaire Kawhe, Office Administrator. I moved to HB in 1979 from the deep south. I am married to Eddie and we have 2 daughters Josephine and Melissa who will complete their University degrees this year, be off our payroll and are past pupils of AMS. I have been working here since 1995 and the time has passed very quickly. My work day is always different with duties such as absentees, all school financial requirements including Parent Group, showing prospective parents around the school, keeping up to date with Ministry requirements, reading and distributing 100’s of emails, managing the student database system (financial, SMS and MOE Enrol), organising pre-school visits and enrolments, Returning Officer for Board Elections, Board of Trustee Secretary, first aide/sickbay (a mix of triage and psychology), responding to requests from teachers, answering parents queries, notices and newsletters. Well that is a snapshot of my day!

Jo works in our school office and also works with children to support their learning.

Hello, my name is Jo Hayes, and I have been a teacher aide at Arthur Miller School for about 10 years. My first association with the school however, was as a parent, when my two children, Hayley and Michael, started as new entrants in 1992 and 1993 respectively. My general responsibilities include classroom support for small groups of children, processing new resources, purchasing and maintaining library books, (as well as chasing those overdue ones!!!) and managing the sports uniforms. My job is both challenging and rewarding, and I absolutely love it.

Jennie is a Teacher Aide.

Hi, my name is Jennie Roberton. I am a teacher aide in my third year working at Arthur Miller School. I have three children all who have attended AMS with my youngest in his final year this year.
I started off helping out volunteering around the school when Brodie started as a five year old. From there I did my training as a teacher aide. My job is rewarding and I enjoy working in the friendly, supportive AMS environment.

Olivia is a Teacher Aide.

Hi my name is Olivia Sneddon. I work at Arthur Miller as a Teacher Aide for team 1 (years 1-3). My work consists of helping children 1 on 1 in class as well as taking small groups out of class for phonics lessons and extra literacy help.

Brenda is a Teacher Aide.

Hi, I’m Brenda and I am married to Alan, have three grown up daughters, two married, and a grandson. I am a Teacher Aide, working in room 2, assisting Hannah Wilson and supporting Greer Findlay. I also work with small groups of students teaching phonics and also supervise ‘The Lunch club,’ I have 5 years previous experience at Te Awa School but I am loving my new position at Arthur Miller School!
